Episode 6 – What Does it Look Like for Hmong People to Plant Non-Hmong Churches?

February 19, 2018

As Hmong people become more comfortable “doing life” with non-Hmong people, what does that mean for the future of our Hmong churches? Can we continue to start new Hmong churches that don’t intentionally reach out to others, especially if those churches are English speaking?

  • What do you think the world would be like if we had a Hmong or Southeast Asian president?
  • What is the Biblical precedent of ethnic churches? And how are they useful?
  • Why is it important that Hmong people plant new churches?
  • What should/could those new churches look like? Should they remain primarily Hmong? (Especially if they’re English speaking?)
  • Daniel, what was it like for you to plant in Toronto?
  • What do future Hmong planters need to do to prepare themselves for multi-ethnic church planting?
  • If we just focus on planting multi-ethnic churches, what is to become of Hmong churches?
If you could plant a church today with Hmong people, what would it look like and where would you plant?
