Episode 5 – Leading Those Who Look Different From You

February 12, 2018

As we continue to develop an understanding of Hmong-American Theology, we are confronted with the questions of what Hmong-American Christians bring to the table. Today we will discuss and attempt to find answers to this question and to understand better where our insecurities stem from, and what we can do to overcome them.

  • Tell about your biggest FOB moment.
  • What is one of the most influential lessons that you have learned in your experience in doing ministry with the larger Body of Christ?
  • Have you had difficult experiences when working with the larger Body of Christ and how did you overcome them?
  • What was an insecurity that you had to deal with when working outside the Hmong community?
  • What was the most beneficial thing to have when working with the larger Body of Christ?
  • Were there any lessons that non-Hmong Christians appreciated about being able to do ministry with you?
  • A significant issue that we should probably discuss is that Hmong people can have a tendency to be very prejudice towards other minorities and our white counterparts. How have you seen this be a stumbling block for the Hmong-American Christian community?
