Episode 3 – Reimagining the Hmong-American narrative through Jesus

November 27, 2017

What would happen if we reimagined the Hmong-American narrative through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus? What if that became the lens that we viewed our not only our past, but our present-day mission?

Show Outline:

  • If you could be any African-American pastor, who would you be and why?
  • Are Hmong people alone in our struggle to develop an American identity and theology?
  • There almost seems to be an “orphan spirit” among people who experience war. How has this shown itself in the Hmong-American experience?
  • Does Jesus make a difference in the way we look back at this experience?
  • Why did God allow what happened in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to happen?
  • How can this help us reach out to other Hmong and Southeast Asians who aren’t Christian?
  • Why is it our generation’s responsibility to capture this?
